Every mother's worst nightmare is their kid getting lost or worse yet taken by someone. We have all had those breath stopping moments when we look up in a public place and don't see our child immediately. Most of us are lucky enough to find them only moments later just out of eyesight. It happens to us all. We wanted to share with you some products we have found to help keep our kids safe in crowded areas and, in worse case scenarios, to help them find their way back to us when they wander out of reach.
Before I had my daughter I swore I would never use a child leash/harness on my child. Then I got stuck in a crowded airport with my 1.5 year old daughter who wanted to walk/run everywhere. I started rethinking my decision and wish that I had one on me! From what I have heard from other moms harnesses are easily wiggled out of and not very safe. Do any of you have any good or bad experiences with child harnesses or leashes?
Here are a couple highly rated options, but again all of these seem to have some bad reviews as well:
Do any of you own any of these harnesses? Tell us about it and share the wealth!
Besides the harness we have found some other great products and tools to help keep your kids safe. Have any of you used any of these products? Is there something we missed? Tell us about it here or on our Facebook page.

These disposable child wristbands are as easy as it gets. They come with a waterproof pen for you to fill in whatever information you like if you get separated from your child. These handy wristbands will stay on even in the pool or ocean. I think this is a great idea for trips to busy places such as airports, amusement parks, or any vacation spot where your toddler might get lost.
If you want a little bit of everything this child safety pack plus has it all. From a DNA kit, fingerprint kit, child ID card, tooth print dental impressions to shoe ID stickers and more. If you can think of it they have it! Some of this may seem unnecessary but if your child goes missing you will be glad you have this.
This Stranger Danger DVD is meant for kids ages 5-10 and is a winner of numerous parenting and media awards.
Aside from implanting a locator chip in your child, which isn't even safe or legal (yet), this product seems like a good and safe alternative to help keep your child safe if they are lost or if you just to keep track of your child. This innovative tracker has many features such as a speed tracker for those kids old enough to drive or be in a vehicle of a friend who is driving. If your child goes over a certain speed limit you can be notified. This device also features a panic button for your child and a destination alert so you can be notified when they reach their destination. You can also set a safe boundary and if your child leaves this boundary, say your neighborhood, you will be notified. There is also a predator alert feature where you can be notified if your child comes within so many feet of a registered sex offender. The only trick to this product is finding a way for your child to carry it at all times otherwise it defeats the purpose obviously.
Do you have this tracking device or any other type of GPS tracker for your child? Tell us about it here or on our Facebook page!!
